Which visa types can be extended?
- L (Tourist): Once, typically up to 30 additional days
- M (Business): Typically up to 30 days
- Q1 (Family Visit): Extendable
- X1/X2, Z: Must apply for residence permit instead
- G (Transit): Cannot be extended

At the local Public Security Bureau (PSB) Exit-Entry Administration in the city where you are staying.

- Passport with current visa
- Completed extension application form
- Passport photo (33x48mm)
- Registration form of temporary residence
- Proof of reason for extension

Processing time
5 to 7 business days. Apply at least 7 days before your visa expires.
